Robin Ward, New Zealand’s premier baroque harpist started his journey without a harp or anyone in New Zealand with the ability to teach him. Out of necessity this led him to building his own instrument, a triple harp with three rows of strings, and teaching himself to play. Since then he has completed a Masters Degree in Baroque Harp.
Prior to this, Robin was trained to play the pedal or orchestral harp and held the position of principal harpist in the New Zealand National Youth Orchestra in 2000 and 2001.

Robin will perform a wide range of music from Baroque and Classical pieces, including works by Dowland, Bach, Devisee, and Glinka, as well as other Jazz, Latin and Celtic treats.
This concert promises to be an enjoyable evening for all ages on Saturday 28 June at 7.30 pm in St. Hilda’s Anglican Church, Katoomba (next to the Commonwealth Bank). Doors open one hour before performance. Enquiries: Joy Ware 4782 4081. |
