Residents and businesses in the Katoomba town centre precinct and surrounding streets are advised of temporary road closures during the 23rd Winter Magic Festival on Saturday 18th June 2016.

LOCAL ROADS AFFECTED
An overview of the temporary road closures is provided below. Please note, the traffic management arrangements, including temporary road closures, will be unchanged from the 2014 & 2015 Winter Magic Festival.

TIME FRAME
The duration of the temporary road closures vary within the Katoomba town centre precinct and surrounding streets. Details of the temporary road closures are provided below.

PURPOSE
The Winter Magic Festival is the largest community cultural event in Blue Mountains. The Festival is approved by Blue Mountains City Council, Roads & Maritime Service (RMS formerly RTA) and NSW Police, with assistance provided by the Blue Mountains RFS and SES.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
Temporary road closures will be managed in accordance with an approved traffic management plan. Professional traffic controllers will be in attendance at all times during the temporary closure, with NSW Police or RFS volunteers in place at some intersections. A reminder notice regarding temporary road closures in place for the Winter Magic Festival 2015 will be distributed to affected residents and business prior to the Festival.

Closure Phase 1: 5:00am – 6:30pm
(**Event Vehicles excepted between 5am & 8:30am –4:30pm & 6:30pm)
• Parke St at Great Western Hwy (Yeaman’s Bridge)
• Bathurst Rd at Cascade St (**exit only)
• Gang GangSt at Lurline St
• Katoomba St at Waratah St (**exit only)
• Parke St at Pedestrian Crossing at Coles Shopping Centre (Delivery Vehicles and Carrington hotel guests & performers excepted)
• Parke St at Carrington Driveway (**exit only)
• Pryor Lane through to Katoomba St*
• Waratah St at Pioneer Pl (**exit only)
• Waratah St at Parke St (Half Closure **exit only)
• Katoomba St at ALDI car park (For Aldi delivery vehicles, Staff & Customers)
• Katoomba St and Edwards St (Half Closure)
• Waratah St at Lurline St
• Waratah St at Beverly Place

Closure Phase 2: 10:00am – 12:00 midday (Police / RFS attending)
• Waratah St at Ada St
• Waratah St at Lurline St

Closure Phase 3: 11:00am – 12:00 midday (Police /RFS attending)
• Lurline St at Merriwa St
• Lurline St at Clissold St

Closure Phase 4: 5:00pm – 9:30pm
(**Event Vehicles excepted between 8:00pm & 9:30pm)
