Are you a fan of Winter Magic? Have you thought about donating?
We know we’ve been quiet lately but believe us, we have been super busy laying the groundwork for a refreshed and re-energised Winter Magic in 2019. We’ve also realised we need to ask our community for support. We’re looking for donations and we hope you can help.
Why do we need donations? Well, as you might know, the Winter Magic Festival is a not-for-profit community organisation that is run entirely by volunteers and they put in hundreds of hours each year to make the Festival happen. You might also be aware that the costs of mounting the festival have grown exponentially over recent years – we have to pay for insurance, road closures, traffic management plans, risk assessments and other elements so that we can ensure the safety of our festival participants and the general public. These things have become increasingly expensive. We also pay for stages, sound and lighting, and it's vitally important that we pay our artists, performers and musicians for their work to make our day truly magical. We do get some support from our beloved sponsors and a small amount from Blue Mountains City Council but the reality is that most of our income comes from stallholders and while we love our makers and entrepreneurs, we don't want our festival to be solely about commercial activity. So we hope that you can spare us a dime. We have set up a Paypal button which is now accessible through our website, and it's easy to donate from your bank account or credit card. Yours ever, Naomi Parry, Winter Magic Festival president
