Merry Christmas and a happy New Year

It’s time for this page to wish all our supporters a restfully festive Christmas and New Year and to close up for the holiday season but we are so pleased to be able to say that Winter Magic 2019 is becoming a solid reality.

In the first weeks of the New Year we will open applications for coordinators, performers and the volunteers who will make winter magic in Katoomba once more. Stall applications are already open and we are very proud to say we will be supporting 14 different community organisations to display their creativity for Winter Magic on 22 June 2019. We've had great support from Council and the police in getting our traffic management in place and we're sorting all the legal requirements so we can concentrate on the fun parts.

I want to thank the committee members who have come on board since March 2018 and have worked so hard to overcome the enormous challenges involved in mounting this event. We aren't there yet – there is so much more to do – but everyone who has served on the committee this year has taken the attitude that we have one crack and that if we didn't run the festival in 2019 it would never run again. And it will be different but it will be fantastic! So thank you Ian, Lynda, Rosie, Warren, Grant, Jimmy, Bob and our newest recruits, Geoffrey and Javier, for ensuring the festival has a future.

We will start the New Year with our regular committee meeting at Hotel Blue on 7 January 2018 at 7pm and invite Association and community members to come along and roll up their sleeves, but in the meantime, have a great summer break.
